Why is connecting a brokerage paid?
Every connected user costs Basketly a real monthly fee for secure brokerage connectivity (SnapTrade) — we pass that through as one flat subscription instead of taking a cut of your portfolio or your trades.
Do you charge a percentage of my portfolio?
Never. Basketly charges a flat monthly fee regardless of how much you invest. A user with $500K invested pays the same as a user with $5,000.
Are there trading commissions?
Basketly charges no trading commissions. Your brokerage charges their standard rate directly on your account — Basketly takes no cut of that.
What happens to my investments if I cancel?
They stay exactly where they are — in YOUR brokerage account, in your name. If you downgrade, you can always still view, sell, or exit positions and disconnect your brokerage; only placing new buy orders requires Premium.
Can I pay in CAD instead of USD?
Yes — you pick CAD or USD when you upgrade. Premium is $5 USD or $7.50 CAD per month depending on your choice. We settle both currencies natively, so you're never charged a currency-conversion fee on top of your subscription.
Is there a discount for paying yearly?
Yes — you can pay yearly instead of monthly, and it works out cheaper than twelve monthly payments. The exact yearly amount for your chosen currency is shown before you confirm anything at checkout.

Is Basketly a fund, or do I own the actual stocks?
You own the actual stocks — this is direct indexing, not a fund wrapper. Every basket you invest in results in real shares held in your own connected brokerage account, not units of an ETF or fund. That means you can customize any basket (add, drop, or reweight a stock) and sell an individual losing position for a tax loss without disturbing the rest of your holdings — neither is possible with a fund.
